Ruby studied classical portraiture for 3 years at Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy, where she learned drawing and painting from life. In Florence she exhibited at Villa Palmerino and Volume, Santo Spirito.

After a stint in London where she explored the contemporary art world and exhibited at The Holy Art, Dalston, and Boomer Gallery, London Bridge, Ruby settled back in Santo Spirito, Florence, where she now works out of a studio and in the open air.
